  • Possible error on Aorus Windows 10 Update page

    http://www.aorus.com/public/event/20...n/upgrade.html

referring to the above website, the instructions for a clean install are not correct as far as I understand things.

I was under the impression that in order to do a clean install of windows 10 it was necessary to first complete the upgrade process from either windows 7 or 8.1 to windows 10 so that the device hardware ID could be registered on Microsoft servers.

Once your device is registered on Microsoft servers you can then perform a clean install and once you boot up the fresh windows 10 installation it will check with the server to confirm the device is registered and activate the windows 10 installation.

I was also my understanding that a windows 7/8/8.1 product key will not activate a windows 10 installation.

Or have I got this all backwards?

    :-)

    EDIT:

    on this page http://www.aorus.com/public/event/20...n/upgrade.html

there is no mention of the X7V2 in the table at the bottom of the page showing driver availability

well not really, I'm on a clean install of windows 10 and have the most recent drivers already, so not too bad for me :-)

I'm simply informing Aorus so less experienced users don't get confused or misinformed.

Thanks for the heads up, we are actually working on X7 v2 Win10 driver support and are going to adjust the website accordingly.

        Thank you!
