  • Can't adjust brightness or fan speed on X7

    Help!

Im going crazy with this flashlight burning my eyes in the dark!
The first couple of boots, i was able to adjust the brightness, no problem. But suddenly nothing happened anymore when i pressed the key or used the slider.
And the slider for the fan speed has also stopped working, luckily this has not become a real problem yet, but it is concerning...

I have searched quite a bit, and tested a few "solutions" i found on the nvidia forums, but got no results.

I have tried these things currently:

Deleted all of the nvidia drivers, and reinstalled them.
    Using system recovery.
Disabeling the "Generic PnP Monitor" driver.
Reinstalling all the software provided by Aorus.

I have attached a some images that may be of use.

Thank you greatly for any support!

The command and control software will override the nvida software. Adjust the brightness from Command and Control.

          Hi Chris,

What model of X7 are you using? We are trying to duplicate this.

          Thanks,

              Hi Chris,

              Is it and X7, X7v1, X7 PRO, X7 PRO-SYNC?

We'd like to try and duplicate what you're experiencing, but need to know the specific type of X7 you have.

              Thank you,

              AORUS Gaming

On the bottom of the laptop it says "Model No.: X7". As stated in the previous comment.

If this is not the information you need, or accurate enough. Please guide me to where such information is located.

This is for the laptop, no attached monitors at all.

                    Hi Chris,

Can you provide us the Serial number? We can figure it out from there.

                    Thanks,

                    AORUS Gaming

                        Hi Chris,

You appear to have a X7 v2 for future reference based of your S/N.

If laptop LCD and Speed control both are not working, we'd like you to send the laptop to the Service Center for us to look at and repair as these are strange symptoms.

You can find your local service center by going to www.aorus.com , click the support tab, and then warranty & service.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

                        Thank you.
