  • [Confirmed] Don't use HDMI/mini DP to DVI converter with X7 V2

I asked one of the company's personnel about whether or not the converter works with X7 V2.
And recently the personnel said that 'Product team said that it will not work'.

X7 V2 doesn't have any DVI port so people may buy the adapter, but don't do that.
The laptop doesn't support it technically.

If you want to convert it to a legacy port, use D-SUB converter.

*Didn't confirmed whether or not the DVI converter works with other X series laptops.

I'm not entirely what to say to this, as I'm using both the right hand HDMI port, and the DP port, with DVI converters right now. I've not had a single issue with it at all.

Then please let me know product name of it. I have a monitor but it has only dvi and dms-59.

Could it be about active vs passive converter? also would like to know the name of the converter.

I can confirm that an ACTIVE Mini DP -> DVI adapter is necessary

I have had this confirmed by both Nvidia and Gigabyte/Aorus here in Australia.

I can further confirm this as I am using one right now to connect my middle monitor.

Laptop: Aorus X7V2 (Upgraded by Aorus from V1)
          Primary Monitor: Phillips BDM4065UC/75 (40" 4K@60hz)
          Auxilary Monitors: 2 x BenQ GL2460HM (24" 1080p)
          1 x AOC M2870VQ (28" 1080p)
          Keyboard: Corsair Strafe RGB
          Mouse: SteelSeries Sensei/Logitech M570
